Well the winter weather has arrived with snow, freezing rain and all sorts of crazy maritime weather, so that means finding indoor places to skate and often the mini-ramp at East Side is the answer.
Here's a few photos I took at the session on Friday night.

So here's some footage of Chris Melvin I had for a while now. Better late than never I guess, I'll have a quicktime version up soon for people wanting to see a better quality but for now here is the youtube and vimeo versions.
I saw an ad in the gleaner the other day advertising adoption in NB and they had a photo of a chick holding a skateboard, so I took a photo and sent it in to the Berrics for their "Skateboarding is Hot, Hot, Hot" and they posted it yesturday. The Berrics
Shot a bit of footage with the Nikon d90 in HD mode, There were a few issues but I think I figured them out. Here's some footage below that isn't the greatest quality because of some compression issues but nevertheless
Today I went back to the Saint John park and got a few more photos. The weather held off and didn't rain so that was good but there were way to many little kids in the way.

A few of us headed to Saint John to skate the new park/plaza, and I must say it is amazing! Although I didn't get that long to skate the whole park due to the rain but even when it rains you can still skate a good section of the park.
I haven't updated the blog in about a week now, because I was in Maine taking a workshop on cinematography that was taught by and academy award winning cinematographer Walter Lassally.
I plan on skating the Saint John park sometime this week so I'll definately have an update on how sick the park is.
The candidates this year weren't the greatest Harper is form of Bush and I can't understand Dionne so I went with Jack Layton. I know he won't win but I'd rather give him my vote.
Nikon unveiled a new 12mp Digital SLR this week that shoots HD video.
It's not full 1080p but it is 720p which means quality wise it still destroys any vx or dvx video camera. There's a lot of buzz about this camera because it's the first slr to shoot hd video, and the lens choices people will have to shoot their video on will be a huge step forward from conventional fixed lenses on prosumer HD cameras.
All nerd talk aside, this means less shit to carry around if your filming skating in HD, or want to do both take photos and film.

Last night was the first time I ever saw the movie Fargo, This is one of the better movies I have seen in a long time. It's directed by the Coen Brothers and takes place in the Midwest of America so almost every line of dialog has a funny accent with the word yaah.
I won't say to much about the story other than it's kind of a comedy mashed in with a thriller. Go rent it.
I haven't got out to shoot photos in like a week or more, So I finally went skating today and sessioned the ledges at the Church. Here's a snap of Brandon doing a switch crook
I've been mad busy on film shoots the last 2 weeks but I got some downtime from that right now so I'll try to get the blog updated on a regular again.
Looks like Josh did good and placed 6th in the Qualifiers on Saturday for Am getting paid, but didn't place in the top 20 in the finals on Sunday, either way I'm sure it was a gnarly contest and can't wait to see some footage! Results
